Kindness Rocks Activity
One simple act of kindness can change someone's day and enough experiences can lead to a lifetime of kindness to others. Through activities and exposure from a young age, we can create future generations of kindness champions.
Kindness Rocks Activity Guide
Creating a kindness rocks activity is simple. You can do this activity at home, at school or in your community.
1. find rocks
You can go to a rock yard and purchase rocks in the bulk selection (often times the most affordable) or you can pick up some rocks that are more polished such as my favorite rocks: "Mexican Pebbles".
2. purchase pens that work well on rocks
My favorite pens to use when coloring my rocks are Posca pens. They are really easy to use and appear bright and colorful. Posca pens glide on the rocks like paint and dry like a marker. They can be used to make thin and detailed designs as well as thicker lines, and even to color the entire surface of the rock.
3. Optional: Get some acrylic spray to seal the designs
This step is optional – you can seal your rock for a longer lasting design. You can get glossy or matte sealer.
4. Spread the kindness in your community
You can leave your rock designs in a park, near your home, your school, or somewhere that might catch someone by surprise and brighten their day.
To help to continue and spread this movement further put @kateskindnessrocks on the back of your rock designs.
